Wednesday evening the 15 September in the Arts Centre at 8.00pm sees the return of the ever-popular Young Musicians Concert hosted by Joanne Quigley.
The Concert was last year’s favourite (and sell-out) concert.
This year local girl Laura Cosgrove is the featured oboeist. Laura is currently studying for a Masters degree in Music at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
On piano is Sam Law: Sam is from Ballymena and is an outstanding player.
Michael Barr is on French Horn: Michael is principal Horn of the Ulster Youth Orchestra.
David McCann plays the cello: he is from Belfast and has been playing professionally since the age of 18.
Scott Lowry is on violin. He is currently leader of the Ulster Youth Orchestra.
Stephen Barnet again has composed and arranged a piece for all five instrumentalists. He is arranging music by George Gershwin.
I have already secured two tickets just to be sure!
But then I’m a ‘Friend of Newry Chamber Music’.
What!? Aren’t you ?
