‘Carlingford is beautifully situated on the south-west side of the spacious lough or bay to which it gives its name, and immediately at the base of an extensive range of mountains which terminate at this point.

Rebekah Coffey at Midnight Mass
Midnight Mass at St Catherine’s (Dominican) Church in Newry this year of 2010 will prove to be very special indeed.
Quigley Christmas Concert
I’m giving you fair warning! The Christmas Quigley Concert is a sell-out every year, and with good reason. So book now at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre (30313180) or direct from Newry Chamber Music (3030830482).
Quigley’s Album
I have often extolled on this site the musical virtues of brother and sister, David and Joanne Quigley, but, for those of you unable to make their wonderful Newry concerts, I have not, until now, been able to recommend a recording.
Little Women by Newpoint
Be advised of a fantastic production at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre from tonight (Tuesday) until Saturday. You really ought to go!
Music galore!
Last night we had a great session in the Railway Bar, including All-Ireland fiddlers, cousins Rosie Ferguson and Oonagh Devlin. Mick Quinn was on hand – and in great form – for the aul stories. We promised to get back to Bernard O’Hanlons for the Friday/Saturday night sessions and the Welcome Inn on Tuesday nights. But that clashes with Alfie Corr’s gig in the Corner House in Rostrevor.
Indeed, my latest icon Rosemary Brennan promised to play that venue a Friday night soon.
Histoire du Tango
The Newry Chamber Music midsummer concert takes place this Saturday at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre at 8.00pm. You must, of course, attend!
Newry Chamber Music Summer 2010
Twelve months ago the Quigley Concert had for the first time as venue, the lovely Friends Meeting House in Bessbrook. Now we are returning there!
Cold-Blooded Murder
It is rare that a new novel’s content lives up to the blurb on the jacket: “a must-read for any true crime fan”, we are told here, but in this case it is all that, and more!
